Jammu Police Solves Theft Case, Ornaments worth 7 Lakhs Recovered

SSP Jammu Sh. IPS Chandan Kohli said that Jammu Police in the Hari Market area had solved a significant theft case, and recoveries worth Rs 7 lakhs have been made in a breakthrough.

Giving details, SSP Jammu said, “A written complaint was lodged at PP Hari Market that some thieves have stolen gold and silver ornaments from the jewellery shop of one person, namely Rajinder Kapoor S/O Shiv Ram Kapoor R/O Sarwal, Jammu, under the jurisdiction of PP Hari Market”.

On this information, a case FIR No. 07/2022 U/S 380/457 IPC was registered at Police Station City, Jammu, and an investigation started.

SSP Jammu further added that special police teams of PP Hari Market under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu were constituted. The team led by SHO PS City Inspr Vijay Kumar assisted by I/C Hari Market PSI Ravi Kumar did strenuous efforts, rounded up several suspects, and local intelligence was also generated along with the CCTV footages of the areas were collected and scrutinised minutely, finally connecting various leads police team rounded up a suspect namely-

1) Shafadul Islam S/O Mohd Furkan R/O Nikund vihar, West Bengal A/P Gujjar Nagar, Jmu.

During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure following quantities of stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 7 lakhs were recovered from his possession:
1. Silver – 8 kg
2. Gold – 18 gm

Also, on further questioning accused revealed the name of his one more accomplice, namely Amir Suhail S/O Sekander Ali Sheikh R/O village -Patul distt – Hooghly, West Bengal A/P Jamawant Gufa, Peerkho, who was also arrested due to timely human intervention. The arrests and recovery were made under the supervision of SP North Kulbeer Handa.
