Celebrating festivals must to preserve cultural heritage: Kavinder

Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today extended Mahashivratri greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

Accompanied by Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee (PHSC), Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Raj Kumar Tarkhan, BJP District President Jammu Vinay Kumar Gupta, District Secretary Narinder Gupta Koki and Ward President Jagdish Raj Proch, Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the special Langar organized on the day of great religious significance to the Hindu community in particular and people in general.

Speaking on occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that celebrating these occasions is essential to our cultural ethos and identity. Therefore, people must promote such celebrations as it would go a long way in preserving our rich cultural heritage, which is the BJP Govt priority.

Later the former Dy CM also inaugurated the lane dedicating it to the people of Bhagat Pura area at Ward No 51 in Channi Himmat Jammu. The aforesaid developmental works are estimated to be completed at the cost of Rs. 38.00 lakh.

The former Dy CM said that BJP stands committed to the nation’s overall development, especially Jammu and Kashmir. However, he said that while the nation’s overall development is a priority of the Modi-led Govt, it has created history by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A and post abrogation, the whole developmental scenario in this Union Territory has received massive transformation. He said this is evident because people can witness for themselves the gigantic developmental works going on unabated at the ground level at an unprecedented pace for which credit goes to the exceptional synchronization between the Union Govt and the UT Administration led by LG Manoj Sinha. He said that the works done, especially in this ward, are highly appreciable, with full kudos to this ward’s representatives and the people.
