Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan is again covered in a white sheet of snow. Devotees reaching the building to have the darshan of Maa Vaishno are excited to see the building situated in the middle of Trikuta mountain. Unfortunately, the mist has taken over Trikuta mountain after a snowfall and light rain. Due to bad weather, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has suspended the helicopter service for the time being, while the battery car and cable car service continues unabated.
Due to snowfall and rain, the cold has increased, but there is no lack of enthusiasm in the devotees who come for the darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi from all over the country. While hailing the mother, the devotees walking on the yatra route for the darshan of the mother are neither worried about rain nor snowfall. These devotees, absorbed in faith, are seen enjoying the season to the fullest. Devotees can be seen playing or taking selfies in the snow lying from the Sanjhi Chatt to the Bhawan.
The Shrine Board official said that this snowfall process had started from the night itself. At first, there was snowfall on the Trikut hills, but later on, the building was also covered with a white sheet of snow. The mountain covered with snow and the building of Mata Vaishno Devi lit up with light between them, seemed like heaven. This is the third time that Mata Vaishno Devi Bhavan has received snowfall in winter. The cold has increased due to rain and snowfall. However, for the convenience of the devotees, the Shrine Board has made arrangements for warm blankets and bonfires at every stop on the Yatra route.
An official of the Shrine Board said that we are keeping full attention on the weather. Helicopter service has been kept closed since morning due to low vision. Battery car and cable car service continue unabated. If the weather is inclement, the battery car service will be discontinued.
According to the information received from the board, about one to two inches of snow has fallen on Maa Vaishno Devi Bhawan so far. On the other hand, Bhairon valley has two to three inches while Trikut mountain has got 3 to 4 inches of snowfall.
