Pilot Wing Commander Harshit Sinha was demise after India Air Force(IAF) fighter aircraft MiG-21 crashed near Sudasari National Desert Park in the Sam area of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district bordering Pakistan at around 8.30 pm on Friday, Collector Ashish Modi has confirmed the crash of the aircraft.

Senior army, police and administration officials rushed to the spot as soon as they came to know about the incident. The Air Force has ordered an inquiry.

According to reports, the incident took place outside Ganga village of Sam, about 70 kilometres from Jaisalmer district headquarters.

It has come to light that the plane fell on a kutcha hut. There was no one inside the hut. Fire brigade vehicles were sent from Jaisalmer to douse the fire as soon as the aircraft fell.

The pilot had taken off for practice but the accident occurred due to a technical snag.

The MiG-21 crashed in the Barmer district of Rajasthan in August this year.
