JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer, along with Additional Director General of Police Jammu, Mukesh Singh, today visited M A Stadium to review the necessary arrangements for the Republic Day 2022 celebrations .
During the visit others officer present were IGP, Armed JAMMU; ADC, JAMMU; AGR JAMMU; Director School Education, JAMMU; Director Floriculture, JAMMU; Director, Health Service Jammu; Secretary, J&K Sports Council Jammu; SSP Security Jammu; SSP Traffic, Jammu; Joint Director, Information JAMMU; Joint Director, Hospitality & Protocol Jammu; Joint Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Jammu; Manager, MA Stadium, Jammu; representatives of PWD; Jal Shakti Department; JPDCL; Army Forces and other concern departments.
Threadbare discussion was on security arrangements, traffic regulation plan, security passes, seating arrangements, decoration, illumination of offices, PAS, Power and water supply, Sanitation, Cultural activities and other important issues for celebrating the national event. The Divisional Commissioner enquired about the flood lights of the stadium and directed the Secretary Sports council to complete all the pending works of substation of power before 10th of January so that no difficulty is faced during the event. He also directed that the circular road of the stadium should be black topped and repaired.
Dr Raghav instructed to remove two cover towers from the stadium ground which is in damaged condition and complete the leveling of ground and start beautification of the Stadium. Regarding the coverage and arrangements of the functions, Joint Director Information informed that all the necessary steps have been taken for wide publicity and to spread the information about importance of the day among the masses. The Div Com stressed on making full proof security arrangements to ensure hassle free celebrations of the Republic Day. “It is our National event and all officers should work with zeal and dedication for smooth and successful conduct of Republic Day” he directed.
Dr Langer asked for proper management of Parade, Culture, and other related activities. He asked the concerned to coordinate with each other for proper time and venue for rehearsal.
