Police personnel posted in the police department have also been given two years of relaxation in the age limit to participate in the sub-inspector recruitment. According to the order issued by the Home Department on Friday, like normal applicants, police personnel will also be able to join the recruitment with the age limit of 32 years instead of 30.

Due to Covid-19, the recruitment could not be done on time. Because of this, the age of many candidates exceeded 30 years. The Lt Governor had announced the increase in age for general candidates. The age of the police personnel posted in the police department has also been increased to 32 years.

It is noteworthy that the Service Selection Board has to recruit 1200 posts of Sub Inspectors. Due to Covid, this recruitment has not started yet. Earlier, the candidates had demanded increasing the age. However, due to strong protests and after listening to the candidates who came out on the streets for the demand, the Lieutenant Governor had raised the age to 32 years.

Now the Home Department has made this age applicable to the personnel serving in the police department. As a result, there are many constable and SPO level personnel who have applied for Sub Inspector.
