Mercury dips to 8.8 Degrees in Jammu, Cold-Wave Grips Kashmir

Nights have turned cold in Jammu amid clear weather in the state. For the past several days, the minimum temperature has been running below ten degrees. The temperature on Tuesday night was 8.8 degrees, due to which the cold has increased. Night temperatures are hovering below zero in all parts of Kashmir. Everyday life is affected by the cold wave. It is cold in Leh and Kargil.

According to the Meteorological Center Srinagar, a rain warning has been issued in the plains and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir’s mountainous areas on December 4 and 5. In bad weather, traffic may be disrupted in Kashmir, Zojila Pass, Pir Panjal range.

Due to the fall in the mercury, the day has started getting cold in Jammu. It was cold on Wednesday amidst light clouds. Jammu recorded a maximum temperature of 23.4 degrees Celsius. Last night’s minimum temperature was minus 0.6 in Banihal of the division, 3.6 in Batote, 8.8 in Katra and 1.5 degrees Celsius in Bhaderwah.

The minimum temperature in Srinagar fell below normal to minus 2.5 degrees Celsius. The day temperature is also running below 15 degrees in almost all the districts of Kashmir.

Last night’s minimum temperature was minus 5.2 in Pahalgam, minus 1.6 in Gulmarg, minus 8.6 in Leh and minus 7.4 degrees Celsius in Kargil. Lehm day temperature has also reached up to 4.7 degrees Celsius. In the coming days, in the event of bad weather, winter will increase.
