A matador conductor was caught by Traffic Police after he denied student fare to a college student in Jammu on Tuesday. The incident happened at BC road when Manik, the student complained about it to an official.
“I boarded the Matador near Gurudwara morh. My fare is supposed to be Rs. 7 while the conductor denied the ‘student fare’ policy and demanded Rs. 10. I clicked a picture of the vehicle number and sent it to Traffic Police.” said Manik.
However, the allegations were denied by the conductor saying that he couldn’t return the money due to green signal. “I respect every student and all the rules. I apologise for my mistake and will return his money.”
Manik while talking to Jammu Parivartan said that his step wasn’t a matter of money but the voice against the injustice with students.
“I don’t care much about the three rupees I would lose but the respect every student should get. We’ve seen this ignorant behaviour before too but it’s high time we stand against it.” He added
Traffic Police officials cut a challan of the matador driver and said that the investigation will be carried out as per the rules.
