In an accident in a stone crusher located on the city’s outskirts, Tuten-di-Khui, a worker working there, died. At the time of the accident, the worker was loading the sand in the Tipper, due to which suddenly he came in the grip of the Tipper. After the accident, the tipper driver fled, leaving the vehicle on the spot.
Sidda police reached the spot and gathered evidence. The body of Sangada, a resident of Mansa Ram, a labourer Bansi Lal, son of Mansa Ram, who died in the accident, has been handed over to his family members for the last rites after conducting a post-mortem at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. A case of negligent driving was registered against the tipper driver at Nagrota police station. The tipper driver, who was absconding after the accident, is being identified.
The accident happened on Monday morning. Workers were working on sand filling at Tipper No. JK02CE-8774 at Tuten-di-Khui on Bajalta Marg. While the workers were working, the tipper driver suddenly got on the vehicle and, without seeing anything, started backing the Tipper. When the Tipper was getting back, at this time, Bansi Lal was standing behind the Tipper. The Tipper went straight to Bansi Lal. Other workers present on the spot raised the alarm, but by then, it was too late. The Tipper had climbed on Bansi Lal.
Seeing himself trapped after the accident, the tipper driver fled away, leaving the vehicle at the spot. People present at the spot found that Bansi Lal had died. The accident was reported to Sidra police. Outpost in-charge, Sidda Shakeel Ahmed, gathered evidence and seized the Tipper from which Bans Lal was trampled. SHO Nagrota Shaukat Ahmed said that the search is on for the absconding driver. He will be arrested soon.
