Two married people allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in the Akhnoor area, in the city outskirts of Jammu.
According to J&K Police, a lady identified as Jyoti Devi, a resident of Chakkar, Gharota and Vijay Kumar, resident of Tanda, Akhnoor, had consumed poison and were found lying unconscious at Pangiri near Akhnoor.
“A passerby shifted the two to Sub-district Hospital Akhnoor. They were then referred to Government Medical College Jammu but couldn’t survive for long,” a Police official said
The Police further added that a case had been registered in the Police Station, and the investigation is under process. The dead bodies have been handed over to their families after post-mortem.
