Preparations are going on in full swing from Maa Vaishno Devi Bhawan to Base Camp Katra on the occasion of Shardiya Navratri starting from October 7. In Navratri, while the entire building complex of Maa Vaishno Devi will be lavishly decorated, the base camp Katra will also be decorated like a bride because the annual Navratri festival will be organized in Katra during Shardiya Navratri. In addition, various religious programs will be organized in it. These programs will be jointly organized by the Department of Tourism and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Thousands of devotees visit Katra daily from all over the country to worship Goddess Vaishno Devi during Navratri. On the other hand, the Navratri festival will be organized in Katra. For this, preparations are going on a war footing. Along with the building premises of Maa Vaishno Devi, the work of painting is going on at a fast pace on all the roads. To ensure cleanliness, Safai Karamcharis has been constituted by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, working day and night. Attractive gates are also being built in Dharmanagar.
The Shrine Board administration has started preparations fast to ensure that the devotees coming to visit Maa Vaishno Devi in Navratri do not have to face any problem of electricity, water, food, drink, or any other kind. On the other hand, apart from the building of Maa Vaishno Devi, the work of decorating Ardhkuwari Temple, Charan Paduka Temple, Bhairav Temple, Banganga has started. Moreover, substantial reception gates are being built at different places in the base camp Katra.
Apart from the welcome gate, Jammu Road, the main bus stand, Banganga Marg, the entrance of Maa Vaishno Devi, Darshani Deodhi, Udhampur Marg etc., are being built at places. Base camp Katra will also be decorated with colourful lights. Work on this has already started. To strengthen the cleanliness in the base camp Katra, teams of sanitation workers have been formed by the municipality, who is taking care of cleaning day and night.
