Excise Comm to extend liquor license till Dec 31

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday authorized the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Commissioner to extend the liquor licence till December 31.

As per the notification issued by the Finance Department, Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department said that in exercise of powers conferred by Section 3A,12,20 and 25 of the Jammu and Kashmir Act, Samvat 1958,the Government hereby directs that proviso shall be added to sub rule (8) of rule 30 of the Jammu and Kashmir Liquor License and Sales Rules 1984.

“Provided that the Excise Commissioner may in exceptional circumstances extend any license except JK-EL-II pending renewal, granted under these rules till 31st of December 2021 or for any further period with prior concurrence of Government,” Mr Dulloo said.

J&K Excise Department has asked all bar operators to get the licenses renewed by submitting nearly 20 ‘No Objection Certificates’ (NOCs) to be issued by the various government departments for submitting it to the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Department.
