3 new micro-containment zones notified in Town: DC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today appealed to the people to religiously follow the Covid-19 SOPs to avert apprehended third wave.

Talking to media persons here at the weekly press briefing on Covid 19 scenario in the district, the DC said that there are still 47 active cases in the district and the weekly positivity rate has gone up from 0.29 percent to 0.5 percent this week which is the cause of concern , if not controlled in time. He also informed that 3 new micro-containment zones have been notified in Kishtwar Township and its peripheries after new COVID positive cases were reported in these hamlets.

He said that test-track-treat and tika strategy has been placed in these areas to contain the spread of virus effectively and efficiently. He appealed to the people of Kishtwar district to avoid venturing outside unnecessarily and follow the Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit by wearing face masks, maintaining hand hygiene and observing social distance.

Regarding vaccination, the DC said that 100 percent vaccination of the above 45 year population has already been achieved and 45 percent of the population below 45 year have also been vaccinated for the first dose in the district. The DC urged the persons below 45 year age to come forward and take the vaccine at the nearest vaccination centre for their safety against the Covid.
