DOGRA EDUCATIONAL TRUST HONOURS MERITORIOUS STUDENTS, AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

Observing all the SOPs and guidelines about Covid19, Dogra Educational Trust organised a befitting Scholarship award ceremony for the meritorious students of Dogra Group of Colleges i.e. Dogra College of Education, Dogra Law College and Dogra Degree College with Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu as Chief Guest, Prof. Rajni Kant Director Colleges Development Council as Guest of Honour, Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister for Higher Education and Chairman of the Trust presided over the function. The event was organized to encourage academic achievers from all the three Colleges wherein cheques worth Rs. 4,12,000/- were distributed among students. Those having scored distinction were given Rs. 5,000/- each & Rs. 7,000/- was given to the position holder at University level examination.

The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. While addressing the illustrious gathering the Chief Guest Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated the meritorious students and appreciated the Colleges management for honouring the academic achievers by providing such a handsome amount as scholarship. He wished good luck to the achievers and motivated the students to improve their technical skills for being market ready, sticking to moral grounds and working diligently to achieve their goals.

The Guest of Honour Prof. Rajni Kant, Director Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu, in his address applauded the academic achievers and motivated them to keep working hard with patience and dedication in order to excel in academics as well as career.

Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister & Chairperson, Dogra Educational Trust encouraged the meritorious students, appreciated their hard work and advised them to have a professional goal in their mind, make efforts in the right direction and blessed them with his motivational words. He emphasized on the fact that the Dogra Educational Trust stands for promotion of quality and inclusive education for all and is not a profit making organization.

On this special occasion the 3rd volume of Annual College Magazine “Nostalgia- A remembrance” of Dogra Degree College was also released by the Dignitaries in the presence of the prominent guests from various fields. Thereafter, Management presented the Mementos to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other dignitaries including Corporators, Officers and Prominent persons.  

Earlier the welcome address was presented by Mrs. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College. Welcoming the dignitaries, she shared in brief ongoing journey of the Dogra Educational Trust which started 56 years back, providing educational services in Urban and semi-urban areas of Jammu region. The trust is running degree courses in the fields of Law, Teacher Education, Business Administration,  Commerce & Arts and has a well placed liberal scholarship scheme for the meritorious and economically weak students.

A formal vote of thanks was moved by Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, who thanked all the dignitaries who graced the occasion and lauded the scholarship achievers.

The programme was hosted by Mrs. Priyanka Sharma and Ms. Aditi Khajuria, faculty members of Dogra Degree College.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Corporators – Smt. Sujata, Sh. Ramji Dass, Corporator, Smt. Trishala Devi, Sh. Tarsem Lal, Smt. Bimla Devi, Sh. Bachan Lal; Naib Tehsildar Baribrahmana Sh. Arjun Singh, SDPO Sh. Nihar Ranjan, SHO Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Mr. Gourav Dev Singh Charak, Principal Humanity Public School, Brig M.S. Jamwal (Retd.), Sh. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak (Member Trustee, Dogra Educational Trust), Prof. V.P. Magotra (Principal Dogra Law College), Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma (Principal, Dogra College of Education), Dr. Komila Aggarwal (Incharge 5Yr & 3Yr Law Courses), Dr. Shefali Sharma (Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education), Master Chhankar Singh, Master Jagdeep Singh, Sh. Swarn Singh and faculty members of all the three Colleges were also present on the occasion.
