With another rainfall, the residents of Kalka Colony have suffered another loss as the flash flood in the drain has washed away many houses.
A few days back, a similar incident happened here, after which the administration promised them that soon the construction of the drain would start. But even after a few days, no work started, and last night’s rainfall has caused another significant damage.
While talking to the media, a local lady said, “we have spent the whole night standing here after the wall collapsed. Every time government officials come here and assure people, no work ever starts. There are minor children here, and almost twenty years have passed looking at these destructions. So we demand that the government should complete the drain project”.
The locals demanded that the government should release compensation for all the affected families.
