Over 27.23 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses administered so far

NEW DELHI: India achieved a significant milestone in its ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive yesterday. On 154th day of the drive, the cumulative COVID vaccination coverage crossed the 27 crore mark. The cumulative figure stands at 27 crore 23 lakh 72 thousand and 645.

Union Health Ministry in a statement said that 19 lakh 43 thousand 765 vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 77 thousand 989 vaccine doses were given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years. It said, cumulatively, over five crore 15 lakh persons across 37 States and UTs have received their first dose and total 11 lakh 40 thousand 679 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18 to 44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.

As on Day-154 of the vaccination drive, a total 29 lakh 84 thousand 172 vaccine doses were given to the beneficiaries.
