Jammu and Kashmir Schools, Colleges, Coaching Centre to remain closed till June 30

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Schools, Colleges, Coaching Centre and Skill Development Institutes will remain closed till June 30, 2021, amid COVID 19 in the Union Territory.

Jammu and Kashmir government has extended closure of the educational institutions for in-person and on-campus teaching. On the basis of the current assessment of the COVID situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the State Education Department has restricted the on-campus teaching. The J&K government has ordered the schools and colleges to continue the online mode of education till further notice. Jammu and Kashmir Schools, Colleges must abide by the following restrictions: All Schools, Colleges, Universities, Technical Education / Skill Development Institutes and Coaching Centers shall remain closed for in-person/ on-campus teaching. The teaching staffs shall also be required to conduct online classes from their homes only.

The Universities and Colleges shall be permitted to seek in-person attendance of minimal staff, only for research or lab work. However, the staffs from these education institutions needed by the concerned District Disaster Management Authorities will not be exempted from the duties as per this order. Earlier, the government had ordered the closure of the schools and colleges till June 15, 2021. 

However, after assessing the prevailing COVID situation in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to extend the closure of Schools, Colleges, Coaching Centre to June 30, 2021.
