KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today revealed that district administration in collaboration with the Health department and line departments has kick-started the Vaccination drive for the 18-44 age bar persons in the district.

“The Vaccination drive was started yesterday at 4 designated Vaccination points established at District Hospital, NHPC Hospital, DTC Kishtwar and Health and Wellness Centre Bhera Bhatta,” informed DC Kishtwar here at a press briefing. He further informed that the administration is going to scale up the vaccination by increasing the Vaccination points across the district. He appealed to the masses particularly the age appropriate persons who are most vulnerable to the Covid infection to take vaccine on priority basis to effectively contain the spread of virus.

He further stated that the district has recorded 74% vaccination coverage of 45 Plus category till date and a door to door vaccination drive is being conducted to cover the leftover in a clean sweep mode. He briefed that 13 micro containment zones have been de-notified after getting fully satisfied with the negative COVID reports, while rest will be de-notified as and when the administration is fully satisfied about the safety in these areas. The DC informed that till date 1521 positive cases have been reported in the district, out of which 1340 have recovered and only 167 are still active. He briefed that the recovery rate has picked up and the positivity rate has flattened this week to 2.70%.
