BANDIPORA: Deputy Inspector General of Police NKR Baramulla Sujit Kumar Thursday visited district Bandipora to review the security scenario, anti- terrorist operations, drive against drug mafia, illegal mining and other crime works, besides held Darbar with officers and Jawans at DPL Bandipora and also inspected various units including Quarantine center, indoor stadium etc.
During his visit, Kumar held meeting with all officers of district (SSP Bandipora, Addl. SP Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora, DySP Hqrs Bandipora , All SDPOs , SHOs and all IC PP’s) and discussed different security measures taken for the maintenance of overall peace in the district. SSP Bandipora Mohd Zahid gave a detailed presentation regarding the security scenario of the district, drives against drug menace and illegal mining. The DIG North Kashmir appreciated the efforts of District police Bandipora in combating the Covid Pandemic and maintaining law and order in the district.During the meeting with police officers, he reviewed the security situation , counter insurgency operations and preparation/measures taken to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the district.
The DIG directed the officers to strengthen the Security Grid and plug the gaps with strict security measures and deal with menace of drugs strongly.About COVID-19 containment efforts, he directed the officers to take all necessary steps in implementing the Government orders on ground and also appreciated the efforts of Bandipora police in its COVID-19 containment efforts. Kumar also decorated medals of J&K Police Medal for gallantry to awardees of district police Bandipora including SSP Bandipora Mohammad Zahid and DySP DAR Bandipora Ishfaq Alam and appreciated the indomitable courage and valour shown by the officers/officials in the line of duty.
He also paid floral tributes to martyrs of police at martyrs memorial. later on he interacted with DM Bandipora Owais Ahmad and CO 3rd BN CRPF.
