The corona pandemic has made low-income families struggle for food. The Government made a scheme of giving free rations to such families, and many families benefited from the scheme. This year also from May, the Government has brought the scheme into action. The Government has fixed figures for providing free Ration to the family.
The Government provided 96.20% of families got 35,190.20 metric tonnes of Ration under Security law. 95.91% of families got 31,791.164 metric tonnes of Ration under Pradhanmantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojna. In June, 36,000 metric tonnes of Ration were distributed to 32,723 families of J&K under Pradhanmantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojna. Apart from this, 19,523 metric tonnes of Ration were distributed from 3 June.
Many families have expressed anger that despite distributing such a quantity of Ration, they didn’t get a grain of rice from the Government.
