REASI: After five years of chase, Reasi Police arrested a proved kidnapping and rape accused absconder who was evading arrest in criminal case of year 2012.
Charge sheet was produced against accused Sartaj Aziz , son of Abdul Gani Maskeen of Bagga Mahore after kidnapping and rape case FIR number 30/2012 dated 10:04:2012 U/S 363, 376 RPC, Police Station Mahore, was proved. Subsequently trial was started in the court of law.
To escape conviction, the accused jumped the bail and evaded trial. On 02/06/2016, the court issued non-bailable warrants U/S 512 CrPC to arrest the accused Sartaj Aziz and produce him before the Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi. Accused evaded court proceedings by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended for the last five years.
Reasi Police developed a specific input by meticulously planning and chased till his arrest from Batmaloo area in district Srinagar. This is arrest of 10th absconder by Reasi Police in last one month against whom warrant U/S 512 CrPC was pending.
