Restaurant raided, oxygen concentrators recovered. Continuing its efforts towards crackdown on illegal hoarding of COVID treatment equipments such as oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders, oxymeter and medicines, the Delhi Police recovered 96 oxygen concentrators from a restaurant in Khan Market area of New Delhi.
As per reports, Police raided famous restaurant Khan Chacha based on a tip off and recovered 96 oxygen concentrators. Brown cartons containing oxygen concentrators were stacked inside the restaurant.
Yesterday, shockingly enough Delhi Police seized 419 oxygen concentrators from a Bar on Lodhi Road. These oxygen concentrators were being sold at an inflated rate of Rs. 70,000 each according to the police reports.
COVID-19 sees a day spike in India
India has recorded 4,14,182 new COVID cases with 3,920 deaths. The country has so far reported a total of 2,14,85,285. COVID-19 cases along with 2,34,071 deaths as per the data updated at 12.24 a.m. IST on May 7. With rising cases and scarcity of COVID equipments and resources hoarding and black marketing has become a major problem for the government. Crackdown on these activities is imperative for better administration and management of COVID surge in India.
