Kathua, Samba police rescue 29 bovines

KATHUA: Kathua and Samba police has rescued 14 and 15 bovine animals in their jurisdiction at different nakas. Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R.C. Kotwal- seized 14 bovines today and seized the vehicle also.

A police team of Police Station (PS), Hiranagar today foiled bovine smuggling attempt in its jurisdictional area and rescued 14 bovines and seized the vehicle as well during the routine Naka checking duty at Londi Morh. Police intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. PB10CW 4731 being driven by driver Zaffar Ali son of Lal Din of Chann Charkariya tehsil Marheen. On checking it was found that truck was fully loaded divided by a iron cage into two parts. On upper side LPG Cylinders were loaded and on inner side 14 bovines (10 cows and 4 oxen) were loaded. Police rescued all the bovines, seized the truck and arrested the accused on spot.

A case FIR No. 63 /2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Hiranagar and further investigation is set into motion. Local of the area have appreciated the efforts of Kathua Police. District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 15 bovines with the arrest of two bovine smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Vijaypur. A police party of PS Vijaypur while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka AIIMS NHW, Vijaypur, signalled to stop a truck having Registration Number JK02AH-3666 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside it.

The accused driver identified as Amarjeet Singh, son of Bachan Singh of Goodlan, RS Pura, Jammu along with his associate Garu Ram son of Tara Chand of Raipur Satwari, have been arrested. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
