JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer today reviewed Development activities, service delivery scenario and Covid control measures in ten districts of the Division here at a video conference meeting with the Deputy Commissioners and heads of various departments.
The video conferencing was attended by All the Deputy Commissioners along with ACDs, ACRs, ADCs besides heads of various concerned departments. At the outset, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the control measures being put in place by district administrations to prevent the spread of covid-19 in the backdrop of fresh surge in different parts of the country. Referring to the reports of Covid surge, the Divisional Commissioner directed all the Deputy Commissioners to review the control measures in their respective districts and focus on increasing per day testing capacity, activate contact tracing mechanism and allied measures to contain the spread.
The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed arrangements being put in place for celebration of world water day (Jal Shakti Abhiyan). It was informed in the meeting that a series of events/ activities, including mass awareness events, have been scheduled to mark the celebration of world water day. The pledge taking ceremony, holding plantation and cleanliness drives, restoration of water bodies etc are being organised with the involvement of public and public representatives, the meeting was told. The Div Com stressed upon all the DCs and concerned departments to formulate comprehensive plans in this regard.
He also directed DCs to organise events at district, block and Panchayat levels. The Div Com instructed the DCs to restore defunct tube wells, Bore wells and other water bodies in the districts. Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner also reviewed progress on Back to Village 3 works and 15th FC works. The Div Com directed the DCs to hold a review meeting with all the concerned officers and closely monitor the implementation works of Back to Village and 15th FC.
The Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the disposal of public grievances received from Lieutenant Governor’s Grievances redress cell and those recorded at Jan Sunwai meetings.
