KISHTWAR: Acting tough against the erring food business operators for not meeting the standards laid under Food Safety and Standards Act, the Court of Adjudicating Officer (Additional District Magistrate) Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar imposed a fine of Rs 47,000 on erring shopkeepers and dhabas.
Giving the details, Assistant Commissioner (Food) Safety, Shabir Ahmed Faridy said that the food business operators failed to meet the various standards of the Act and were found selling sub standard/misbranded food items. He added that Food Safety Officer Kishtwar Rajni Bhagat had taken samples of various food articles from various outlets of the district.
“Under Food Safety and Standards Act, the items were declared substandard and misbranded and all the cases were filed in the said court” he added.
