Two female passengers died and six others, including two children, were injured when a minibus rolled down into deep gorge near Kawa in Udhampur Thurssday evening.
There were total 15 passengers in the minibus, bearing Registration number JK14-8137, which was on its way from Dibber Baba Pad to Udhampur city when it met with the accident near village Kawa. While negotiating a curve, driver lost control over the vehicle which rolled down into deep gorge. Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared two female victims as brought dead. The deceased were identified as Asha Devi (48), wife of Bittu Ram, resident of Lout and Geeta Devi (50), wife of Dharam Chand, resident of Lout.
The injured persons have been identified as Mohan Lal (30), son of Shankar Dass of Kawa, Sushma Devi (30), wife of Sanjay Kumar of Kawa, Manav (11), son of Sanjay Kumar of Kawa, Manabi (7), daughter of Sanjay Kumar of Kawa, Nirmla Devi (42) wife of Bishan Dass of Bapei and Vicky (32), son of Om Parkash of Kawa. Their condition was stated to be stable.
