Licals of village Lander in Panchari and adjoining areas protested against Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to restore power supply in the area for the last 15 days.
The protesting villagers said that Upper Galiot and Sdota are without electricity for the last two month and the people were immensely suffering because of no power supply during the peak winters. They lamented that because of no power or erratic supply, students were worst suffer as they are not able to attend their online classes. The villagers raised slogans against PDD and demanded high power transformer to cater to the area.
Population of the area in thousands but there only one transformer , which usually remains out of order because of overload,” they explained, adding that despite repeated pleas, the PDD authorities have failed to do the needful.
