Recovery rate of COVID-19 reaches 81.55 percent in country

Union Government today said that the country’s recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients has reached to 81.55 per cent. More than 87 thousand COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours. Health Ministry said, the total number of recoveries has reached over 46 lakh 74 thousand. The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country is reduced and currently comprises only 16.86 per cent of the total positive cases. India’s COVID-19 tally has crossed 57 lakh with 86 thousand 508 new infections being reported in a day. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is nine lakh 66 thousand. The Ministry said, effective implementation of Centre’s strategic and graded Test-Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality. Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.59 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. In the last 24 hours, one thousand 129 deaths were reported taking the toll to 91 thousand 149. According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 11 lakh 56 thousand tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has reached to over six crore 74 lakhs. The testing strategy also ensured a steady expansion of the national lab network. Today, with one thousand 82 labs in the government sector and 728 private labs, one thousand 810 labs are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
