Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned special relief of Rs 42.50 lakh in favour of NoKs of nine SPOs who died during their engagement with department. Rs 5 lakh each has also been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of the nine deceased SPOs Shub Ram, Tara Chand, Mohd. Hussain Bhat, Lal Chand, Ashok Kumar, Sukhvinder Singh, Ali Mohd., Daljeet Singh and Showkat Ahmad Hakeem who expired due to illness during the course of their engagement under different PHQ orders. DGP Dilbag Singh has also sanctioned special welfare relief out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund in favour of legal heirs of the deceased Prosecuting Officer Tahir Imran who expired due to illness while in service. Pertinent to mention here that during this year Rs 2.40 crores has been sanctioned in favour of 50 SPOs who sacrificed their lives for the nation or died during their engagement.
