Massive infra up-gradation underway: Kavinder

Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta Wednesday started the construction of 33/11 KV Receiving Station work at Trikuta Nagar park in Gandhi Nagar constituency. State co-ordinator, REC PDCL – Sanjeev Kailwoo, Executive Engineer, STD- Anil Gupta, Councillor Neeraj Lucky Puri, Subash Sharma, Bhevaneshwar Arora and KK Mahajan were prominent among those present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering Gupta said that elaborate efforts are underway to bring about major reforms in all sectors in Jammu and Kashmir including power sector focusing on area wise balanced development for the betterment of the society. Kavinder said Union Government is functioning round the clock with fresh impetus to developmental activities in the hitherto neglected parts of Jammu division as it was BJP’s commitment to end the discrimination of the other regions by abrogating Article-370. Commenting on the work started for the construction of 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Trikuta Nagar which has to be executed by JKPDC at Rs 3.74 crore, Gupta said Government is focused on the augmentation and regulation of existing power supply in the UT. He stressed on the need to expedite the process for implementation of the other Centrally sponsored schemes aiming at a sustainable development of the sector and would bring structural changes besides strengthening the distribution network of power utilities. After commissioning of the Receiving Station residents of Trikuta Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Channi and adjoining areas will be benefited, he said. Gupta further added that Union Government is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people of J&K and concerted efforts are being taken to ensure the same. Gupta said that in the past six years we had been successful in commissioning six receiving stations at Gandhi Nagar, Sunjwan, Hakkal, Gadi Garh, Gangyal and Sainik Colony . The cooperation of general public is necessary for the Government to take forward the developmental activities in J&K, he added. Other prominent persons who were present on the occasion were from Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society president, Rajinder Kakar and its team members including Er Ashok Kumar Arora, vice president, S N Koul, general secretary, Adv Harsh Vardan Gupta, secretary, Vijay Mahajan, Sandeep Sharma, Rohit (Rinku) Mahajan, K.K Mahajan, SC Sharma, Er Varinder Kumar and Vishal Kapil Khurana.
