The Government has exempted certain categories of persons from administrative quarantine on their arrival to Jammu and Kashmir by trains or any other means of transport. According to an order issued today by Chief Secretary BVR Subrah-manyam, who also happens to be the Chairperson, State Executive Committee, some categories of patients and other people on their arrival will be sampled for testing and sent to home quarantine for 14 days. However, if their test result is positive, they will be brought to a COVID hospital for recovery and treatment. The exempted categories include pregnant women in the last trimester with a doctor’s certificate of pregnancy, cancer patients on chemotherapy, chronically ill patients, discharged from a hospital after surgical procedure, dialysis patients with a doctor’s certificate, mothers with infants of below one year, children below 10 years traveling alone without a family member, Government of India personnel on bonafide Government duty and passengers travelling with an RTPCR Test Negative Certificate from an ICMR approve laboratory/testing facility, not older than two days (48 hours) before the arrival date.
