Observing that the current COVID-19 pandemic was sending us a warning, loud and clear to introduce far-reaching changes in the way the world is organized, scion of the erstwhile Dogra royal family and Founder Chairman of Temple of Understanding India Foundation, Dr Karan Singh has hoped that humanity would ultimately pass through this ordeal. “We fully endorse the belief of all people belonging to different religious communities and faith based traditions, as well as those who may not subscribe to any faith, that humanity will ultimately pass through this ordeal and it will emerge with greater insight and deeper appreciation of its inherent oneness and interdependence,” he said in a statement, issued here today. Expressing his serious concern over the impact of COVID19 pandemic that has given rise to great uncertainty about the fate of humanity, cause great economic consternation, deranged normal life and plunged the nation into deep crisis, Dr Singh said that turning to the divine for comfort and succor in times of grave peril is a natural inclination of every human being repeatedly enjoined in the sacred scriptures. Temple of Understanding India Foundation, a global interfaith association, joins its sister organizations and like minded institutions in expressing concern for the well being of all in the society, especially those who are most vulnerable, in extending support to the extent possible by providing aid and relief,” he said. “On behalf of Trustees and the multi-religious Advisory Council, I convey our prayers for the safety and well being of all in these extraordinary times,” he added.
