Cong seeks restoration of 4G internet, release of prisoners

The J&K Congress on Wednesday urged the government for immediate restoration of 4G internet service and release of all prisoners. In a statement the party senior Vice President, Ghulam Nabi Monga said since all educational institutes were closed in J&K, the students have been left with no option but to remain idle at their homes which has a telling impact on their future. He said the deadly virus was spreading at an alarming rate and the public health officials have called for minimal public gatherings, which was pushing many activities online.He said the issue was particularly severe for schools, where the risk of spreading the disease was high. He said since all schools, colleges and universities were closed as a result of coronavirus outbreak students were missing classes, creating an education disruption in J&K. He demanded immediate release of Kashmir prisoners who were lodged in jails within and outside J&K. “In such situations when there is global crisis, detained people must be released,” he said. “Other political leaders including Mehbooba (Mufti) Ji and other too must be released as soon as possible,” he said.
