As Part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Army organised comprehensive programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which witnessed enthusiastic active participation of students, youths and elders of Chasana and adjoining areas. In addition, drawing/ painting and speech/ elocution competitions for both girls and boys category were also organised for children. The event was aimed to educate, students, youth and locals to accomplish the vision of a clean and serene Nation. The drive was structured on the national theme of “Swachh Bharat”. The participants were educated about the policies of Government on the comprehensive rural sanitation programme. During the drive, information was provided about the incentive scheme offered by Government in the form of awards at various levels for maintaining good standard of toilets and proper garbage disposal. Participants also pledged to ‘SAY NO TO PLASTICS’ since plastics pollute environment drastically, sustain for decades and decrease fertility of the soil. The drive was well received as evident from the large number of participants. To boost up the motivation for clean India drive, brooms and cloth bags were distributed to locals. A total number of 240 students, teachers and locals of Chasana and adjoining areas shared the effort of the Army towards cleanliness of the area. Prominent locals, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Retired Government Employees, Senior Citizens and locals expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude towards the Army for this noble initiative. The Army urged the locals to contribute towards the national mission of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
