In the West African country, Burkina Faso, an ambush on a convoy transporting employees of a Canadian mining company has killed 37 people in the deadliest attack in nearly five years of terrorist violence. The impoverished and politically fragile Sahel country has claimed hundreds of lives since early 2015. The unidentified armed individuals ambushed five buses carrying local employees, contractors and suppliers of the mining company in the eastern province yesterday, said Saidou Sanou, the governor of the country’s East Region. 60 people were injured.
