Vice Chairman (VC), Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Vikas Sharma Wednesday discussed various development issues with executive members of Transport Nagar Association. While interacting with executive members of Transport Nagar Association (TNA), Vikas Sharma said that tender for main road of Transport Nagar (approx 800 m) tender is almost through and the work on it will start shortly. He shared that UEED DPR regarding main nallah of Transport Nagar is ready and work will soon start on it. On departmental issues of JDA, Vikas Sharma said that he is committed to give more efficient services and will conduct a separate meeting for resolving all JDA issues soon. He was invited at Transport Nagar by the TNA to grace a function to culminate a 3-day eye check up camp, which was organized by the TNA in association with Centre for Eye Sight. The VC JDA was told that the eyesight of about 300 people, mostly drivers of buses and trucks, were examined free of cost during the camp with High tech Machines and the needed people were provided free medicines and specs frames at 50% of the cost. The idea behind free eye check up camp was to avoid road accidents, as according to the data of Transport Department, low eye sight is a major cause of road accidents because drivers are reluctant to get their eyes checked and treated. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Sahai, chairman, TNA stressed upon Sandeep Mengi, chairman, Centre for Eye Sight for organizing these camps on regular basis so that most of the people can take benefit out of it.
