The traders and transporters bodies have deferred the call for bandh in Jammu province on Monday. A press release issued by the secretary general of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Manish Gupta has said that on the request of the State Administration the Jammu bandh call for Sept 16 has been deferred. Gupta said during the meeting of JCCI president Rakesh Gupta, Chairman J&K Transport Welfare Association TS Wazir, Chairman J&K Kissan Council, Rajesh Sharma and some office bearers of JCCI and Transport Associations with the Dy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan and SSP Jammu Tejinder Pal Singh today, it was conveyed that Governor Satya Pal Malik has invited the office bearers of Jammu Chamber, Transport Welfare Association and other stake holders for talks at Srinagar on September 19. He claimed that after discussions, the JCCI, CTF, J&K Transport Welfare Association and J&K Kissan Council resolved to defer the call for Jammu bandh. They urged the authorities that in future before taking any policy decisions the stakeholders must be consulted. On the assurance of the Governor as conveyed by the District Administration it was decided to defer the Jammu bandh Call for September 16, Monday. Gupta said that future course of action shall only be decided in case the genuine demands are not addressed.
