A security forces personnel has lost his life in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, a police official said. Acting on credible input about the presence of terrorists in Bijbehara area of the south Kashmir district, security forces launched a cordon and search operation this morning. The official said the search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired on the security forces, who retaliated. One security force jawan was injured in the encounter, he said adding that he succumbed at a hospital. The exchange of fire was going on when last reports came in, he said.
