Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy has said, violence that erupted in the country against the newly enacted Citizenship Amendment Act was due to the venomous disinformation being spread by irresponsible members of opposition. He said, political parties which were allegedly instigating violence in the national capital over the act should refrain from doing so and appealed people to maintain peace. Reddy said, Citizenship Amendment Act is for those facing religious persecution and is not against any race, region and religion of any Indian. He also said that damaging private and public property was totally wrong.
